The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic

The emotional well-being of children and teenagers has never been so tested than during 2020.  At my therapy room in Bath I have seen first hand how the enforced time off school, lack of social contact and new sets of rules (hands, face, space) have taken their toll.

Inevitably, children / teens, pick up on our own worries and tensions, as well as what we’re hearing and seeing on the news and social media but not having a full understanding of what it means.  This can all lead to fears around returning to school, being outdoors among the public, being away from their parents/family and also about being in new environments etc.

We are also seeing an increase in sleep problems, anxiety and self-harm and a huge decrease in confidence.

I am currently running a survey so will publish the results on here once I have them. Should you wish to take part please click on this link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/KHJ6VBJ
